The Black Theatre Review Inaugural Publication – Crossroads
Crossroads
We encourage submissions from all fields that use the lens of Black performance to acknowledge and explore the concept of crossroads: the intersections of past, present, and future; the dynamics of power and disempowerment; the diverging and converging of gender, sexuality, and sensorial and lived experience; performance and performativity; incarnation and reincarnation; and more.
With its inaugural issue, tBTR seeks to publish original papers, book and performance reviews, technical and design notes, theoretical frameworks and perspectives, case studies, and works of multimedia. All issues will be centered on specific themes (as in the case of Crossroads above). Special issues devoted to performance pieces and particular artists will occasionally be published as well.
